少年時代のある事件を境に、笑いを失ってしまったヤクザの虎児（長瀬智也）は、組長（笑福亭鶴瓶）の融資した400万円を落語家・林屋亭どん兵衛（西田敏行）から取り立てることに。どん兵衛の芸を見て笑いに目覚めた虎児は、落語を１つ習うごとに10万円を支払うことを条件にどん兵衛に弟子入りした。しかし、入門して２カ月、一向に覚えられず、昼は落語家、夜はヤクザという毎日。一方、竜二（岡田准一）は、父・どん兵衛の借りた資金で洋服店「ドラゴンソーダ」の経営を始めたものの、店は閑古鳥。そんなある日、虎児は組長から最近様子のおかしい息子・銀次郎（塚本高史）の、竜二からはケンカして出て行った店員・リサ（蒼井優）の、それぞれ調査を依頼される。
