为了打破支持率低迷的局面，现任内阁总理大臣阿藤一郎（小日向文世饰）及其秘书官古贺征一（泷藤贤一饰）决定重新启用总理任命“官邸料理人”的职位。自从被称为“大宰相”的吉田茂总理时代以来，因为没有合适人选，这个职位大概空悬了七十年。因为某事件，古贺认识了在料亭当女招待的一木久留美（刚力彩芽饰），认为她有成为厨师的天赋，便询问久留美是否愿进入官邸做总理的厨师。犹豫再三后，久留美决定接受这份工作，在魑魅魍魉横行的总理大臣官邸里为国宾做料理。然而，在厨师的世界中，受自古以来的传统影响，官邸厨房全是男人的天下。久留美要面对的是心怀敌意的官邸食堂厨师长清泽（高桥一生饰）和他的部下们。在与这些人的反复较量与合作的过程中，她为阿藤总理的政策、日本的政治外交做出了贡献。
